I'm Alecks Gates.

I build systems, run them in the real world, and — picked up along the way — secure them.

Enterprise software, on-prem and cloud — Azure, AWS, GCP — and lately security engineering. The stack was never the point; the range is. I've seen systems from every side and I can't unsee how they connect, which is mostly what this blog is about — the conviction that architecture embodies values whether you choose them or not, so I'd rather choose them on purpose.
